F.H. Germain & Co. a major Central Massachusetts elevator company specializing in installations, service, repairs and supplies of Passenger & Freight Plunger Elevators, purchases The Dean-Whiting Elevator Co. in the early 1900's.


1972 Meredith Elevator Co., Worcester, MA

Ken McClay, Westinghouse's Central Massachusetts Service Representative employed by Westinghouse since 1958, left the company in 1972 during a strike to form Meredith Elevator Company.


1973 Ken McClay purchases F.H. Germain and Co., Worcester, MA
Ken McClay founder of Meredith Elevator makes a major acquisition by acquiring F.H Germain & Company through a buy out.

1980 Cape and Islands Elevator Co., South Yarmouth, MA

Ken McClay formed Cape & Islands Elevator Company. Cape & Islands Elevator Co. specialized in servicing and installing elevators throughout Cape Cod and the Islands.
